I grew up in a Nebraska garden and work determinedly to help the people and world around me flourish.
I write about meaningful travel, adventure, science, health, sustainability, motherhood, feminism, love, and the busy intersections of these close-to-my-heart topics.
My editorial writing has been published in The New York Times and several anthologies and magazines, including Afar, Islands, Stanford, National Geographic Traveler, Garden Design, Sport Diver, and on nationalgeographic.com. I’ve also worked as an editor forAfar, Islands, Sport Diver, Weekend Sherpa, and Via.
As a copywriter and content creator, I enjoy helping forward-thinking brands to clarify and enliven their copy, share their stories, and communicate their sincere steps toward sustainability. I write fun, research-driven blog posts that make even seemingly mundane topics engaging. For the past several years, I worked as a senior copywriter and content creator for Cocofloss, a women-owned small business that creates innovative oral-care products raved about in The New York Times Wirecutter, The Strategist, Esquire, Real Simple, and more. I’ve also developed social-media strategies for Afar and the travel company Wilderness Travel and have written ad copy for international tour companies and resorts.
I hold a B.A. in English with distinction from Stanford University and a certificate in editing from U.C. Berkeley Extension. My passion for exploring and learning has led me to travel in about 70 countries. Now I live with my husband and daughter in the small town of Louisville, Colorado, near Boulder.
