“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?
”
—Mary Oliver

Welcome! I’m Jennica Peterson, a writer, editor, and content strategist interested in innovative people, faraway places, and the power of storytelling.

My writing has been published in several anthologies and magazines, including Afar, Islands, National Geographic Traveler, Garden Design, Sport Diver, and on nationalgeographic.com. I’ve also worked as an editor for Afar, Islands, Sport Diver, and Via. I’ve developed social media strategies for Afar and the company Wilderness Travel, and I’ve written copy for tour companies and resorts. Much of my writing focuses on experiential, ethical, and sustainable travel. I hold a B.A. in English with distinction from Stanford University.

My passion for exploring and learning has led me to travel in about 70 countries. Perhaps my favorite single hour in all of my travels was spent with wild mountain gorillas in Uganda. Recently, my husband, daughter, and I traveled around the U.S. for 15 months in an RV. We settled in the small town of Louisville, Colorado, near Boulder.

I currently work as a freelance wordsmith, writing copy for forward-thinking companies, writing and editing essays and children
’s books, and helping other writers to find their own voice.
